GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenwood man ended up in jail after refusing to take no for an answer, according to Greenwood police arrest reports.

Officers said Jonathan Fisher was charged with assault and battery and drawing a weapon in affray after he assaulted a woman on Plowden Avenue Monday night.

According to reports, the victim claimed Fisher had been texting her all day asking her to come to his place for a romantic encounter.

The victim claimed she continually denied Fisher's request and asked him repeatedly to stop text messaging her.

Around 9 p.m. Monday, according to reports, Fisher showed up at the victim's home and the two got into a fight.

According to reports, Fisher choked the woman, punched her, and threw her to the ground, before a female neighbor tried to break up the fight.

The report states Fisher also hit the neighbor and then turned and appeared to be walking away, but instead turned and began chasing the victim with a pocket knife.

The victim said Fisher chased her around her yard several times before giving up and walking off.

Police said they caught up with him on nearby Highside Street, where he was taken into custody.
