SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A man sought by Savannah-Chatham Metro Police since a barbershop raid on July 18 was arrested Friday at a home that operates a daycare center.

Police said Shawn Anthony March, 39, was arrested without incident by Central Precinct detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force at a house in the State Street area.

There were up to 10 children in the house at the time. Police said there was a room where local gang information was displayed.

March was wanted since a barbershop at Ash and 36th streets and a nearby house were raided by police.

Marlon Mozat Brown, 39, was arrested at the Celebrities Barber Shop in the 2000 block of Ash Street in the raid by the Tactical Investigation Unit of the Central Precinct Investigation Office.

Brown initially had been charged with three illegal substances sales. Marijuana was found in the barber shop and illegal substances, drug manufacturing equipment, a stolen weapon and a stolen computer in his home on West 35th Street, according to SCMPD.

March and Brown have extensive histories of drug offenses and probation violations with SCMPD and several felony convictions, according to police.

The raid stemmed from investigations from Jan. 9, 2012, after Larry Jiles was fatally shot in front of Celebrities Barber Shop. SCMPD Violent Crimes detectives continue to investigate that case.

Activities at the shop and house were raising concern among neighbors. Police said officers conducted surveillance and undercover operations on the shop and saw drug deals going on at both places.
