CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Search warrants and a probable cause affadivit now available give new details about superior court employee's involvement in an investigation by the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team.

Velvelyn Scarborough's connection to a nearly 40-person drug network wasn't confirmed until CNT agents observed her through jail video and phone calls.

Search warrants show investigators seized several cell phones and a couple laptops from her home. Agents determined Scarborough was providing information to a man she had dated Leonard Anthony Kennedy, according to the documents.

Her position as a warrant clerk allowed her access to this information.

Investigators believe Scarborough could have compromised the case and put officers in danger. At a county commission meeting Friday, CNT Director Everette Ragan recognized the need to get everyone connected to the case behind bars.

"We've been after everybody. With the county employee [Scarborough] we came across her and we've been working very very closely with the district attorney's office."

Scarborough was granted a $10,000 bond.
