SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Carolina Panthers have invaded the Upstate once again for their training camp. Hundreds of fans came out to Wofford College on Friday night to see their favorite stars in their first practice.

Right before the practice the team put on a "Back to Football Party".

There was some pretty cool stuff for folks of all ages to do at the party. People came out to enjoy the party before the practice, and then got to go back and hang out for another hour after practice.

There was music from the "PurrCussion" and kids taking pictures with "Sir Purr", the Panthers mascot.

Panthers cheerleaders were also there getting the fans pumped up.

Then the players took the field, and hundreds of fans came out to get a first-hand look at all their favorite stars. QB Cam Newton, WR Steve Smith, and RB DeAngelo Williams were all there.

We'll give you a sideline seat for the first day of Panthers practice and all the big stories in sports on Fox Carolina News Tonight.
