GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Rapper DMX will be back on stage later this week. His publicist said the rapper's arrest in Greenville County on Friday will not affect his upcoming concerts.

Domenick Nati's firm, Nati Celebrity Services, represents DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons. Nati released the following statement on Sunday: "DMX's brief arrest last Friday will not affect his upcoming performances this weekend. The charges were resolved in under an hour and will not disrupt his concert schedule. Fans can still expect him August 2nd in Essington, PA and August 3rd in Modesto, CA."

Nati said the charges against the rapper have not been dropped, but he said "were resolved enough (for Simmons) to be released."

Simmons was arrested early Friday morning by troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, according to the Greenville County Detention Center.

Detention Center officials said Simmons was picked up on a DUI charge and bonded out of jail a few hours later.

Officials said he was charged with DUI and driving without a license, first offense. Officials said his blood alcohol was less than .10.

Simmons was driving a 1978 Plymouth station wagon at the time of the incident, according to troopers.

This is not Simmons first run in with the law in the Upstate. In February, he was arrested in Spartanburg County and charged with driving without a license.

DMX has been living in the Upstate on and off for the last few years.
