The coroner has identified a man who was found dead in his home on Monday night.
Greenville County deputies said the body was discovered after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from a home on Pine Creek Drive.
Deputies believe the body could have been inside the home for weeks or months since the body is badly decomposed.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Barry Wright identified the man as 57-year-old Donald Palm.
Wright said Palm's death appears to be from natural causes, saying he had a significant medical history that may have contributed to his death. He said toxicology reports are still pending.
While Wright did not say when Palm died, he said it could have been several days ago because Palm had been living alone. Wright said Palm's daughter is taking care of his wife's, who has her own medical needs.
Deputies said there was no sign of forced entry into the home.
