HONEA PATH, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Honea Path Police said one man died and another was charged with murder after a shooting early Saturday morning.

Police said they were called to Time Out Bar and Lounge at 12:30 a.m. Police said when they arrived, they found one man had been shot.

Coroner Don McCown identified the victim as Broadus White Jr., 38, of Honea Path. McCown said preliminary investigations show White died from a gunshot to the chest.

Honea Path Police took Alex Da'Mon Anderson of Due West into custody. He is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Anderson is in the Anderson County Detention Center.

Honea Path Police said that Belton Police and the Anderson County Sheriff's Office came in to help control the crowd.

Police said Anderson told them that White "made gestures toward him leading up to the shooting," but officers said they are still investigating those claims. Police said that Anderson and White appeared to have an ongoing dispute, and said the two had at least one past altercation where police became involved.

Police said all collected evidence will be submitted to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
