COLUMBIA, SC (AP/FOX Carolina) -

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is finally making it official that she is running for re-election next year.

Haley will make her official announcement in Greenville on Aug. 26 at the Bi-Lo Center at 4 p.m., according to spokesman Rob Godfrey.

The free event is open to the public and will be emceed by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, R, and will include appearances by Republican governors Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry and Scott Walker.

The governors will also be in town to fundraise for Haley the same day.

The announcement sets up a likely rematch of the 2010 governor's race, when Haley got 51 percent of the vote and beat Democratic state Sen. Vincent Sheheen of Camden, who received 47 percent.

Haley's campaign will tout job growth and a drop in the state's unemployment rate.

Sheheen is already highlighting what he says are missteps by the governor in handling the hacking of state tax data and a tuberculosis outbreak at a Greenwood County school.

Anyone who would like to RVSP to Haley's rally on Aug. 26 can do so at nikkihaley.com.
