SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said they are looking for a man who took his own daughter from her mother without permission at gunpoint Monday.

Lt. Tony Ivey with the Spartanburg Count Sheriff's Office said the 4-year-old girl has since been located and is with her mother, but they are looking for her father because he is wanted on one count of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and one count of pointing and presenting a firearm.

The dad, identified as 25-year-old Ryan Sexton, stormed an apartment on Abner Road on Monday just before 6:30 p.m. along with his girlfriend, 21-year-old Kiara Kerns, Ivey said.

First Kerns asked for Sexton's daughter, then Sexton pointed a rifle or shotgun, demanding his daughter, according to the deputy's report.

The report said when Sexton pointed the gun at everyone in the apartment, the girl's mother ran out of the apartment with her other child, jumped a fence and ran to a neighbor's home to call 911.

They took the girl then left the scene, deputies said. Kerns was located a while later with the girl, who was returned to her mom unharmed, Ivey said.

Ivey said Kerns was arrested and charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to a felony.

Anyone with information about Sexton's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
