NC woman accused of holding gun to daughter's head

GASTONIA, NC (AP) -
Arrest warrants show a Gaston County woman held a gun to her teen daughter's head before shooting and wounding the girl and a sibling.
Fifty-one-year-old Tina Payne is charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious injury.
Gaston County police say the shooting happened Aug. 4 at the family's home.
Police say the 15-year-old girl was in the bathroom when her mother placed a gun to the girl's head.
The warrants state the girl screamed and her 28-year-old brother came in and wrestled with his mother over the gun. Both the girl and her brother were shot. She was hit in the left shoulder and he was struck in the hand.
Both victims are recovering.
It was not clear if Payne has a lawyer.
