GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers have charged a 18-year-old Greer man in connection with a wreck that killed a Boiling Springs man more than a year ago, who was accused of driving under the influence.

Daniel Nelson, 40, died in the fiery July 24 wreck that happened about 5 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 101 and Taylor Road in Greer.

Troopers have since made an arrest in the case, charging Daniel Woosley with felony driving under the influence and reckless homicide, according to arrest warrants.

Troopers said Woosley crossed the center line, hitting Nelson's pickup truck head-on.

According to the incident report, Woosley was injured in the wreck and troopers subpoenaed a review of his medical records on Aug. 13, 2013. The medical records showed Woosley had alcohol, cannabis and amphetamine in his system, according to the report.

On Thursday, the solicitor's office filed the new charges and arrested Woosley, the report said. He was booked in the Spartanburg County Detention Center.

During his bond hearing Friday, a judge gave him a $50,000 bond under several conditions.
