GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A "Make a Wish" recipient who has been in and out of a hospital all of her life was treated to a special birthday celebration on Saturday night.

A limo picked up 19-year-old Betsy Eye and friends at the Hyatt in downtown Greenville and drove them around for three hours for a scavenger hunt.

The group was then taken back to the Hyatt around 10 p.m. for a special feast and birthday cake at the Roost restaurant.

Eye is chronically ill with a rare disease called intestinal lymphangantasia, which causes her to be malnourished.

Eye is a patient at Greenville Hospital System and has had three life-threatening admissions this year.

She had to cancel a "Make a Wish" trip six weeks ago, but to make up for it she was treated like a princess on her birthday.

Eastside Transportation Services, the staff at Hyatt Regency Greenville and Defenders for Children organized the celebration.
