CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Former Clemson basketball player Devin Gray died of a heart attack on Saturday in Atlanta.

The 41-year-old played at Clemson from 1991 to 1994 and was an All-ACC player.

The Clemson sports information department said Gray was playing basketball on Saturday at a facility in Atlanta and later in the day complained of chest pains. Gray was taken to an area hospital.

Gray is from Baltimore and had recently moved to Atlanta to start a new job.

Gray suffered a heart attack as a student at Clemson on the night of the NCAA Championship game between Arkansas and Duke in 1994.

Clemson said tests showed that Gray's heart attack was the result of excessive coagulation of the blood and was put on medication.

Gray went on to play two years in the NBA. He played the 1996-1997 season with Sacramento and San Antonio. He played the 1999-2000 season with Houston.
