GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said a man who tried to cut the line to get into a downtown Greenville bar and restaurant stabbed the bouncer with a knife when they tried to kick him out.

Lt. Jason Rampey with Greenville police said the man tried to force his way into Ford's Oyster Bar on Main Street early Sunday morning but the employee at the door told him to go to the back of the line.

When the man, identified as 56-year-old Monroe Byrd, tried to push his way inside, he was kicked out, police said. Byrd then went back inside, pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim working the door in the neck, according to the arrest warrant.

Rampey said the bouncer will be OK and Byrd was arrested on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is being held on a $60,000 bond.
