SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Several lanes of Interstate 85 were blocked near mile marker 72 after Spartanburg County a tractor trailer wrecked, spilling lumber across the highway Wednesday morning.

The Highway Patrol said the wreck happened at 9:11 a.m.

FOX Carolina crews at the scene said the two inside lanes of northbound traffic were initially closed along with the inside lane of southbound traffic as crews worked to clean up the lumber and investigate the crash.

Troopers said the truck driver swerved to avoid a car that changed lanes in front of him, causing him to lose control and overturn into the median.

The truck driver was injured and taken to the hospital, troopers said.
