GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate couple said their missing 14-year-old niece was found safe.

Family members say Kimberly Burrell left a children's home in Greenville around 10 p.m. on Thursday, August 15.

The girl's aunt and uncle said they were told that she was seen at the McDonald's at University Square on Old Buncombe Road. The family had been hanging flyers in that area.

The family said Kimberly was found safe at an Aiken rest stop trying to get back to Greenville. They did not say how she ended up there.
