FLORENCE, AZ (CBS5) -
A Mesa man has been arrested by Pinal County sheriff's deputies on suspicion of molesting a 7-year-old girl in San Tan Valley a year ago.
The victim told investigators she had been molested by a family friend.
Isidro Pacheco, 58, had moved and couldn't be found by law enforcement officials until Thursday. He was brought in for questioning and subsequently arrested, according to a sheriff's office spokesman.
Pacheco was booked into the Pinal County Sheriff's Office Adult Detention Center on two counts of felony child molestation.
He was being held on a $500,000 bond.
"Pacheco used his relationship with the victim's family and betrayed that trust and molested this young girl," said Sheriff Paul Babeu. "The overwhelming majority of children who are sexually abused are abused by someone they know and trust, a person most parents would never suspect. It is important adults with children encourage their children to know they can talk with them about anything. If you suspect a child has been sexually abused, report it immediately to law enforcement."
