GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said someone fired gunshots in the same area where a shooting was reported last week along the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Greenville.

Greenville County deputies said someone called 911 Friday just before 10 p.m. after they heard gunshots go off near the trail and Highway 253.

A deputy in the area also heard the gunfire, Lt. Michael Hildebrand with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said.

He said deputies found several signs along the trail were shot. No one was injured or found in the area, Hildebrand said.

On Aug. 20, deputies said shots were fired along the trail in the same area. And on Aug. 12, deputies found the body of a homeless man, who was shot to death, in a wooded area about 100 yards from the trail and 253.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
