CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said the man wanted in connection with the theft of one motorcycle in Clemson turned himself in on Wednesday.

Chadwick Abercrombie, 24, was arrested on the charge of grand larceny greater than $10,000, police said.

Clemson Police Chief Jimmy Dixon said Abercrombie turned himself on the warrant Wednesday morning and is awaiting a bond hearing.

Police said 23 mopeds, four cars, six motorcycles and five utility trailers have been stolen throughout the city recently. Dixon said Abercrombie stole one of the motorcycles and may be connected to some of the other thefts.

Clemson police ask anyone who has had previous dealings with Abercrombie to contact investigators at 864-624-2000.

Police also suggest using locks on bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles and parking all vehicles in well-lit areas to help prevent thefts. They also suggest locking vehicles and not leaving valuables inside.
