Police: Spartanburg man charged after 3 women assaulted

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Spartanburg man has been charged after an incident that left three women injured, according to Spartanburg Public Safety.

On Aug. 17 officers responded to a report of a woman being assaulted and a gunshot being fired, police said. When they arrived at the scene on Arch Street in Spartanburg they found three woman bleeding profusely, officers said.

Officers said they saw a .45 caliber magazine lying on the ground near the scene and witnesses said they heard a loud gunshot. The three victims denied that a gun was used, officers said.

Hector Gonzalez, 27, was charged with attempted murder, two counts of assault and battery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with the incident, police said.

Officers said the victims refused to cooperate and claimed they had been jumped by three other females.

The women signed waivers that said "they wanted to go home and forget about the whole thing," according to deputies.
