FOUNTAIN INN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Fountain Inn police said they are looking for a man who is considered armed and dangerous after he cut off his ankle monitoring bracelet and is wanted on several charges.

Police said Tarrell Cook, 21, is wanted on five counts of assault and battery first degree, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, pointing and presenting a firearm, unlawful carrying of a pistol and discharge a weapon.

Police said Cook could be staying in the Fountain Inn and Laurens areas. The public is urged to use caution if they see Cook, police said.

Police Chief Keith Morton said Cook was previously convicted of assault and battery earlier in August and was sentenced to home detention but cut off his monitoring device is on the run.

He has pending felony charges from Fountain Inn police, Morton said.

Anyone who knows of Cook's whereabouts is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
