SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers said drivers headed north on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County hit some delays Thursday morning after a tractor-trailer overturned.

The wreck happened at mile marker 75 about 5:15 a.m. after troopers said the semi truck ran up on a construction truck.

According to Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne with the Highway Patrol, the construction truck was driving at the back of a group of vehicles putting down road reflectors. As the semi truck approached, it could not stop in time, swerved to miss the other truck but still hit it, Rhyne said.

He said the tractor trailer's driver lost control and overturned, but was not injured. Debris from the construction truck flew off and hit another car, Rhyne said. Either driver was injured.

The driver of the tractor trailer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

It took crews several hours to clean up the wreck and two the semi truck away.

FOX Carolina crews at the scene said the truck had caught fire earlier in the morning, but it was extinguished.
