TAYLORS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is looking for the driver who ran away from a vehicle after crashing into a Greenville County apartment building early Friday morning.

Troopers said an officer pulled the driver of a black Honda Accord over on Howell Street just before 2 a.m., but when the trooper approached the car, the driver took off.

The trooper said he tried to catch up with the driver during a short pursuit but lost sight of the car.

A short time later, the car was found crashed into a building at the Cliffwood Terrace Apartments on Edwards Street in Taylors.

No one inside the apartment building was seriously hurt, but according to troopers, the driver ran from the scene.
