SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A tractor-trailer caught fire Friday morning, backing up southbound traffic along Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County after crashing into a motorcycle that was laying in the roadway.

Troopers reported the accident just after 6 a.m. near mile marker 78 and Highway 221.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne said a 1996 Harley Davidson was left in the outside lane, unattended when the tractor-trailer hit it.

Both vehicles caught fire after the crash but no one was injured, Rhyne said. Smoke was still billowing from the semi-truck at 7:30 a.m., according to FOX Carolina crews at the scene.

Drivers headed south faced delays for quite awhile.

The Pit Crew Traffic Center showed traffic backed up for several miles and crews at the scene said the two outside lanes of traffic were blocked until about 9:20 a.m. when traffic started moving again.

Rhyne said the motorcycle's owner was found at the QuikTrip a half mile away and was charged with have no motorcycle license and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.
