Multiple crashes stopped traffic in Spartanburg and Anderson Counties on Saturday afternoon.

Troopers on scene at mile marker 80 in Spartanburg County said that two different wrecks took place. One was a single car, and in the other one vehicle rear-ended another.

In total, troopers said three people were taken to Spartanburg Regional Hospital with no life-threatening injuries. Drivers said they have been slowed in traffic for miles.

In Anderson County, dispatchers confirmed a wreck at mile marker 35 on I-85 northbound. They said the road there is blocked.

Anderson dispatch also confirmed a car vs. motorcycle wreck on Civic Center Boulevard.

State troopers also confirmed a wreck in Oconee County. There was a fatal wreck on Wolf Stake Church Road, near Courtney Smith Drive, which is 3 miles north of Walhalla.

Troopers said a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree.

Coroner Karl Addis said 47-year-old Jason Patrick Smith of Seneca died of a head injury and other blunt force traumatic injuries on the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Addis said Smith was driving the Camaro, which he was restoring.

Troopers said the passenger, Sarrah Bennett, 29, of Seneca was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
