SURPRISE, AZ (CBS5) -

A Surprise teen missing since she left home on Sept. 6 has been found safe in California, police said.

Vaghe Cain, 14, was found Thursday evening around 6 p.m. by deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Department in Aliso Viejo.

Deputies were called to a home when the father of a 17-year-old boy became suspicious about the amount of time his son's new girlfriend, Vaghe, was spending in his home.

The father asked Vaghe for her parent's contact information and became suspicious when she refused to provide it. The father then called the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Vaghe and her boyfriend fled before the deputies' arrival but were found a short time later not far from the home.

Deputies soon learned Vaghe's identity and discovered she was reported as a runaway juvenile by the Surprise Police Department.

Police said they learned that Vaghe has known her 17-year-old boyfriend for about one year, and the two met while playing on Xbox Live.

Prior to leaving her home on Friday, Vaghe made arrangements with her boyfriend for him to drive to Surprise and bring her back to his home in California, authorities said.

Vaghe was in good health. She is being held by the Orange County Sheriff's Department until she can be reunited with her family.

The incident remains under investigation. No charges are pending at this time.

Her mother, Chandie Cain, told CBS 5 News that Xbox Live gaming was her daughter's "social interaction."
