GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said the man accused of attacking someone, cutting the victim's throat, turned himself into police.

The attack happened outside of the McDonald's on Rutherford Street on Sunday.

Police said the incident started with a fight between the victim and the suspect, identified as 56-year-old Wayne Edwards.

Greenville police spokesman Johnathan Bragg said the victim walked into the restaurant and called for help while Edwards fled the scene.

Police said they issued arrest warrants for Edwards on Monday on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. According to a post on the department's Facebook page, Edwards turned himself in later on Monday.

Edwards is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
