ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies said they were called in to assist Georgia State Patrol with a high-speed chase that ended up in Anderson County Tuesday.

Lt. Sheila Cole with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said the patrol officer chased the motorcycle along U.S. 29 South into their area and at one point, the officer's car swiped a fence  near Becky Street.

She said the officer was not hurt.

Cole said the suspect was able to get away and they tried to search for him with dogs, but did not locate him.

She said investigators may know who he is but have not yet released his name.

The chase remains under investigation. Officials did not say why the motorcycle was being chased.
