ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store on Highway 187 Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers said the robbery was reported at 4:54 a.m. at the Hickory Point gas station.

Deputies said the robber entered the store, showed a gun then ran away towards the Budget Inn where the store's employee said they saw a small pickup truck leave the area a few minutes later.

Deputies said the truck headed toward Pendleton and they tried to track after the robber but did not locate him.

Deputies said they were reviewing surveillance of the robbery and no shots were fired during the robbery. They did not say how much, if anything, was stolen.
