A Spartanburg man's shoe collection worth more than $4,600 along with several other valuables was stolen by a burglar on Tuesday, deputies said.
The man called Spartanburg County deputies to his Davis Drive home to report a break-in, according to a sheriff's office report.
The report said the homeowner returned home to find his side door pried open and several items worth thousands of dollars missing.
The victim told deputies the following items were stolen: A Sony Playstation 3, two watches, $600 cash, 42" flat screen television, some gold jewelry, a laptop and 15 pairs of Air Jordans, three pairs of Kobe Bryant shoes, four pairs of Air Max Nikes and a pair of Barkley Foamposite shoes.
According to the report, the shoes alone were worth $4,650.
The man told deputies his wife left their home about 7 a.m. so someone must have broken in after that, according to the report.
Deputies said the burglar had taken the couch cushions off, the mattress in the bedroom had been removed off the bed, and the person had gone through the kitchen cabinets.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
