GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville Police Department will hold a 5-mile run to "Take Back the Swamp Rabbit Trail."

On Thursday Sept. 19, police are inviting the public to go for a 5-mile run alongside officers.

Runners are asked to meet at the Greenville Zoo parking lot and be ready to run starting at 6 a.m.

Several police officers will run the trail wearing neon green shirts.

Some have expressed concerns about safety along the trail after recent robberies and an assault. The city is working on an increased security plan along the trail and in downtown Greenville.

Officials released a map of the run's route on Sept. 17.
