SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
An Iraq war veteran missing from Simpsonville since Monday afternoon was found Friday night at a Waffle House in Greer, according to his wife.
Kristopher "Dallas" Campbell, 33, went missing after leaving his home carrying nothing but a small backpack and a cell phone. His wife said that he served two tours in Iraq and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health issues.
He was last seen at the VGO gas station at 800 East Georgia Road in Simpsonville wearing black tennis shoes and a gray T-shirt, according to deputies. His wife said he is known to go into the woods and deputies said he is carrying a knife.
Friday night Campbell walked into the Waffle House on Highway 101 and used the restaurant's cell phone to call his home, according to his wife. Marianne Campbell said the staff at the Waffle House noticed that something was wrong with her husband and called police.
Campbell is being treated at Greenville Hospital, and his wife expects him to be taken to a VA hospital for treatment at a later date.
Cambell had not eaten for days and was dehydrated, according to his wife. She said that he did not know how he got to Greer or what day it was.
