GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Officials revealed the new name and logo for the Bi-Lo Center on Wednesday.
The arena will be named the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, sponsored by Bon Secours St. Francis's Health System, as part of a 10-year, $4.5 million partnership.
The Greenville Arena District Board's approved the deal prior to Wednesday's announcement.
The new name and logos will go into effect on Oct. 1, though some changes may be seen sooner. More than $13 million worth of renovations are going on at the center, which are expected to be finished in late October.
Parts of the arena will be dedicated to share health and wellness information with guests, officials announced.
The arena seats 15,000 and hosts events like the Greenville Road Warriors minor league hockey team, concerts, conferences and more. Some of the renovations are already completed, including 280 new chairs installed along the arena floor.
In 2012, Bi-Lo announced it was moving its headquarters to Florida after the once-Greenville based company bought Winn-Dixie. Following the multi-million dollar deal, the company said it would let its contract with the arena expire at the end of September.
Bon Secours Health System is a not-for-profit Catholic health system based in Marriottville, MD, and owns dozens of hospitals and other health-facilities across the country, including St. Francis in Greenville.
