GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Highway Patrol is investigating a crash Thursday morning that claimed the lives of two men, troopers said.

According to Lance Cpl. David Jones, the driver of a 2001 Mitsubishi SUV went off the right side of Rutherford Road near Mill Street, overturned several times and hit a tree just after 1 a.m.

The driver and his passenger were both trapped in the vehicle and died, troopers said. They said neither was wearing a seatbelt.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans identified the driver as Eric Holloway, 39, and the passenger as Troy Busha, 30, both of Greenville.

The crash is under investigation by Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner's office.
