GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A brand new, state-of-the-art trampoline arena is open in the Upstate.

Owners of Gravitopia said it will be the first trampoline park in the state of South Carolina. They opened their doors for the first time on Friday evening.

They had some competition for the title of "first in South Carolina," though. Sky Zone, another trampoline park, is also getting ready to open its doors Oct. 5.

Gravitopia features a dodge ball court, a ninja obstacle course, a flying trapeze and foam pits where people can practice their flips. Owners say one can burn up to 1,000 calories in an hour while jumping on their trampolines.

"It's very interactive and that's what we love: The importance of having families be able to come to the facility and have a blast together, that's what we were going for," said Gravitopia Owner and Developer Zane Hansen. "We knew that Greenville would be the optimal place.

On Fridays and Saturdays after 9 p.m., the facility will close the arena to children under 15. The lights will go down, and the place will offer a club-like atmosphere where people can jump, socialize and have fun.

Gravitopia is located at 48 Brookfield Oaks Drive in Greenville. Prices will range from $8 to $12. The trampoline park will be closed on Sunday. The facility is still looking to hire a few more staff members.
