HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A woman has been charged after she posed as a home health care worker and stole medicine and other property, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

Lacey Marie Silcox, 25, has been charged with multiple counts of check larceny, obtaining property by false pretenses, identity theft, larceny by an employee and forgery, the sheriff's office said on Friday.

Deputies said Silcox previously worked for different home healthcare service providers in Henderson and Transylvania County until October 2012. They said Silcox continued to pose as a home health care worker, and went to several homes that she previously cared for.

Residents reported that Silcox stole medicine and personal property when she returned to the homes.

Deputies said investigators found forged prescriptions, stolen jewelry, and a "pattern of deceit and theft" involving Silcox.

Deputies said Silcox is being held on $140,800 bond and more charges are expected.

Henderson County deputies ask anyone who has information concerning Ms. Silcox to please contact Detective Tonya Starling at the Henderson County Sheriff's Office at 828-694-2796 or Detective Gail Mackey at the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office at 828-884-3210, extension #3.
