Voters from Ward 4 in Westfield are heading to the polls Tuesday to decide which two of the three candidates will face each other in November's election for a seat on the City Council.
Incumbent candidate, Mary L. O'Connell is running against John J. Michaliszyn and Michael J. Burns.
The polls opened Tuesday at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m.
Precinct A voting is being held at Juniper Park School and Precinct B voting is taking place at Highland School.
A common concern among the three candidates is the Western Avenue reconstruction project.
City voters will choose between Mayor Daniel M. Knapik and opponent Michael L. Roeder for the city's top spot when they head to the polls for the general election on Nov. 5.
The candidates will also be selected for the at-large council seats, School Committee, Westfield Gas & Electric commission and Athenaeum trustee.
The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 5 general election is Oct. 16.
