SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Coroner's Office said that a Startex man was killed Thursday night following a two-vehicle crash in Simpsonville.

Coroner Parks Evans said the crash happened at 895 NE Main St.

The victim was taken to Greenville Memorial, where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

Evans identified the victim as Walter Werner, 69.

Capt. Kevin Threlkeld of the Simpsonville Police Department said Werner was entering traffic from the Subway restaurant when he was struck by a Ford truck.

Evans said Werner was not wearing his seatbelt when his truck was hit by another pickup on the driver's side door.

Threlkeld said the Greenville County Sheriff's Office was assisting with the accident reconstruction.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Threlkeld.
