ABBEVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An off-duty Abbeville police officer shopping at the Walmart in Greenwood spotted a man he knew was wanted by deputies, according to the sheriff's office.

Abbeville County deputies said they were looking for two men in connection with a burglary on Sept. 10.

The police officer was able to notify the sheriff's office and get help from Greenwood County deputies to arrest Christopher Washington on Thursday, deputies said.

Deputies said Washington was wanted along with Malcolm Moss on charges of burglary second degree, larceny, malicious injury to property and criminal conspiracy.

Following Washington's arrest, deputies said Moss turned himself in to police on Saturday.

Abbeville County Sheriff Ray Watson thanked the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office for their assistance, and the Abbeville police officer, who spotted Washington and went the "extra mile" to make the arrest.
