COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Another large jackpot is expected for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing, just weeks after a South Carolina resident won the $400 million Powerball jackpot.

The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday is an estimated $189 million, the second largest lottery prize this year.

"To follow up our recent Powerball jackpot win with our first Mega Millions jackpot win would be something special," said Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea. "We've waited a long time to celebrate a Mega Millions victory, over three years, so we feel that the time is right to bring this jackpot home to South Carolina."

Earlier this month, the winning ticket for the $400 million Powerball jackpot was sold in Lexington, SC and the winner chose to remain anonymous.

Tickets for the Mega Millions drawing are on sale until 10 p.m. on Tuesday for the 11 p.m. drawing.

A South Carolina resident has yet to ever win the Mega Millions jackpot, according to a representative for the South Carolina lottery.
