GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

For those looking for a little help understanding the Affordable Care Act, CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta will be in Greenville Tuesday.

The Health Care Express Bus will be set up in front of City Hall and will offer interactive stations where people can get more information about health insurance and apply for coverage.

The bus will be open until 6 p.m. and is free for the public.

Gupta will help highlight the benefits and shortfalls of the act, help explain how it works and talk about the application process for healthcare.

"Obviously there is a lot of concern about this act," Gupta told FOX Carolina. "The federal government is shutdown in large part because of this implementation, so people have concerns."

Gupta said he is in Greenville to help answer people's questions because South Carolina is affected by the law.

"One of five South Carolinians do not have health insurance, so this is a big deal to them," he said.

Tuesday is the first day for people to start enrolling in healthcare plans through the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Click here to read more about how some in the Upstate are responding to the new healthcare options and find out more about how you can sign up.

CNN's bus will head to Lexington, KY, then Baltimore, MD, after visiting Greenville.
