SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Spartanburg wrecker service is offering a reward for the return of two tow trucks that were stolen or information leading to the arrest of someone in connection with the thefts.

Red Bordner, manager of Red's Wrecker Service on Garner Road, told FOX Carolina that he was offering a $3,000 reward in connection with information leading to the recovery of two black extended-cab, flat-bed trucks with Red's Wrecker Service painted on the doors that were stolen earlier in September.

One of the stolen trucks has a photo of Kimberly Hampton, a soldier who was killed in action, painted on the side of the truck and has in memory of Kimberly Hampton written on the side back windows, Bordner said.

Bordner said nearly every truck in his fleet is dedicated to an Upstate service member killed in action.

Bordner said the stealing of Hampton's truck was a "slap in the face of our veterans and Kimberly" because she fought for their freedom.

Hampton died on Jan. 2, 2004, when the helicopter she piloted was shot down near Fallujah, Iraq. She was the first female pilot killed in Iraq.

Bordnersaid it angers him to think that the thieves will likely destroy Hampton's picture.

Anyone with information about the thefts or if they see the trucks is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
