Car crashes into house in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A car crashed into a house in Greenville County on Tuesday afternoon, leaving five people in the hospital.

Troopers tell us the 2004 Nissan Honda was driven by a juvenile. Four of the other passengers were also juveniles, and three were not wearing their seatbelts.

Officials said an elderly woman lives at the home but she was not home at the time of the accident.

Parker Fire District and Highway Patrol are at the scene.

Firefighters were stabilizing the house on Tuesday evening.

The accident happened on Hill Street near South Washington Avenue in Judson. Troopers tell us the car ran off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment, hit a tree and then went airborne into a house.

The driver has been charged with driving too fast for conditions and violation of beginner's permit.
