A local event commemorating a Revolutionary War battle is getting relocated because of the government shutdown.
The event to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Kings Mountain is being moved to downtown Gaffney after the closure of Kings Mountain National Park.
The government shutdown has closed all national parks.
A campground will be set up behind the Michael Gaffney log cabin on Limestone Street and shower facilities for reenactors will be offered, a representative of the city of Gaffney said.
The festival will go from Oct. 5 to Oct. 7.
