Chesterfield police searching for home invasion suspects

Posted: Updated:

Chesterfield Police need your help finding three suspects wanted in a terrifying home invasion.

Imagine waking up to armed men standing over you in your bedroom. That is exactly what happened to one family living off Harvette Drive in Chesterfield.

"The first thing I thought is do we need to get surveillance?" said neighbor Carolyn Bohannon. "Do I need to put a gun in my house?"

Bohannon lives right across the street from the home that was trashed.

"It's very scary," said Bohannon. "You don't feel safe in your own home. As a matter of fact, you don't feel safe leaving your home."

Police say the family was asleep when three men stormed their bedroom with guns drawn. Police say one of the suspects demanded cash then proceeded to search the house for more money.

As they searched, police say, the husband escaped through the shattered glass door and contacted police.

"We've never had anything like that is this neighborhood," said Bohannon. "That is why it was surprising."

Neighbors reported seeing a white van in the area just before the home invasion.

Police say all three suspects were wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves. Two of the robbers had handguns in the July 22nd robbery.

The suspects were gone before police arrived. The man was injured during the incident, but his wife and 2-year-old daughter were not.

Detectives believe the house was targeted by the robbers. They do not think it was a random act. If you have any information contact Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
