Missing boater's body on Lake Hartwell found, identified

SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

At 10:30 a.m., Sunday, authorities in Oconee and Hart counties recovered the body of a man who they said drowned in Lake Hartwell on Saturday night.

Oconee County Coroner, Karl Addis has identified the man as 23-year-old, Logan Wolfe, of Richmond Hill, GA.

Oconee Fire Chief Charles King said Wolfe was a passenger in a fishing boat with three others when they said he fell out of the boat.

Emergency crews searched near Harbor Light Marina through the afternoon. Crews said the man fell out just after 1 p.m. near the Georgia state line. Dive teams were searching 75 feet under the water.His body was recovered in a water depth of 55 feet.

Dive teams from Hartwell, Elbert and Oconee Counties worked together to bring closure to the individuals family.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said Wolfe died as a result of a freshwater drowning.  Addis added that Wolfe suffered no injuries prior to the drowning, or sustained a seizure.

Wolfe's manner of death has been ruled as accidental.
