Tigers move up, Gamecocks drop back

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

College football polls were released on Sunday.

For the fourth week in a row, the Associated Press has the same top five teams. That's Alabama, Oregon, Clemson, Ohio State and Stanford.

The Gamecocks' poor defensive effort on Saturday no doubt played a role in them slipping one spot to 14 in the AP poll.

USC's 14 straight home wins did help them hold strong at No. 12 in the coaches' poll. The Tigers, on the other hand, jumped up into a tie with Ohio State at No. 3.

The Gamecocks start a three-game SEC road trip next week when they head to Fayetteville, AR, to take on the Razorbacks.

The Tigers come back to Clemson for two straight ACC contests. They'll square off with Boston College next Saturday.
