Elderly TN woman missing, last seen in Duncan

DUNCAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's assistance is attempting to locate an elderly missing woman.

Deputies said 80-year-old Ruth Poole, of Tennessee, was last seen in Duncan, where she was visiting friends.

Poole left her friend's home on East Main Street to shop at a nearby store, but she hasn't returned since 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to authorities.

Poole was driving a 2010 white 4-door Ford Fusion with Tennessee tag F0161R.

Deputies said Poole was last seen wearing a brown flowery top, brown pants, brown socks, black shoes and she may be wearing glasses. They also shared that she wears dentures and has scars on both knees from surgery.

Poole left her mobile phone in a charger at her friend's residence and she has started showing the early stages of dementia, according to authorities.

Deputies said investigators checked area hospital and near her home in Tennessee but have not found her.

She has been entered into the national database and deputies are asking the public to keep an eye out for her.
