Five cars were broken into the same night along one road in Piedmont, according to Greenville County deputies.
Deputies said the break-ins all happened during the same time frame between Oct. 8 and 9 along Pendock Lane.
During the break-ins, deputies said cash, tennis racquets, tools, a GPS, two TVs, a gun and other items were stolen valued at more than $4,700 total in stolen goods.
These are not the only thefts in the Piedmont area in recent days. Deputies in Anderson County said several vehicles have been stolen from homes near Highway 17 and Highway 86.
Anderson County deputies said this rash of thefts isn't totally out of the ordinary or that unusual. But they did add that living in a rural area can give people a false sense of security. Read more about what they said here.
Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
