Highway Patrol: South Carolina Trooper fired after arrest

CHEROKEE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Highway Patrol said a South Carolina trooper was fired on Friday after being arrested by SLED.

Jeffrey Martin is charged with breach of trust.

Troopers said a SLED investigation showed Martin stole money from the Fraternal Order of Police Chapter in Cherokee County while he was serving as treasurer.

Martin has been a trooper since 2006.
